Today’s update to Doppler adds support for iOS 15 and a includes some other small fixes and improvements.
Spatialised Audio
iOS 15 adds support for Spatialised Audio. This feature creates a virtual soundstage for surround sound and multi-channel audio when playing through supported speakers.
If you have surround sound music files, you can play these in Doppler to try out the effect. This feature might not be for everyone — so there’s a new option in the Settings screen to turn this on or off.
Updated CarPlay Support
There wasn’t much in the way of CarPlay updates in iOS 15, but Apple did add a new “Siri Assistant” button for apps to use.
While driving, CarPlay enters a restricted mode to help keep your eyes on the road, and not scrolling through lists of music or other content. When Doppler is used in this restricted mode, it will now show the new Siri Assistant button at the top of the screen.
Tapping the Siri Assistant button will start Siri and you can control Doppler with just your voice. Start or shuffle albums, playlists and more without taking your eyes off the road.
